Lacking a Self I
Anatta 1 (SN 22.143)
1. I heard thus. At one time the Blessed One lived in the monastery offered by Anāthapiṇḍika in Jeta's grove in Sāvatthi, and the Blessed One addressed the monks from there:
2. “Monks, you should dispel interest for whatever is lacks a self as. What is lacks a self as?
3. “Monks, matter is lacks a self as. You should dispel interest for matter.
4-6. “Monks, feelings, perceptions, and intentions are lacks a self as. You should dispel interest for feelings, perceptions, and intentions.
7. “Monks, consciousness is lacks a self as, you should dispel interest for consciousness.
8. “Monks, you should dispel interest for whatever is lacks a self as.”
“Monks, you should dispel interest [greed, or interest and greed] for whatever lacks a self.
2. “Monks, you should dispel interest for whatever is lacks a self as. What is lacks a self as?
3. “Monks, matter is lacks a self as. You should dispel interest for matter.
4-6. “Monks, feelings, perceptions, and intentions are lacks a self as. You should dispel interest for feelings, perceptions, and intentions.
